foobar2000 > your Windows music player.

Download:
1) foobar 0.9.6.3 beta 1 or later (features used here are not included in 0.9.6.2 and earlier versions). Choose Portable installation, and choose Full!
2) neo’s config ZIP archive to extract over the directory you installed foobar2000. WARNING IF YOU ALREADY USE FOOBAR: Overwriting all the files will erase your current foobar configuration! If you only need the theme, download neo’s config.fth and point File\Preferences\Default User Interface\Import Theme\ at “neo’s config 1.01.fth”. You may still need the “components” and “foo_title” from the archive however.

After install:
File\Preferences\Media Library\. Click on Add at the top right and add your music folders. foobar2000 will now monitor those folders in real-time. If you rename a file, foobar will delete the previous entry from the library and add the new file. If you delete a file, foobar will know. If you retag a file, foobar will also know and reflect those changes in your playlist view.

If your previous music player has an easy way to export playlists based on ratings (iTunes can’t but this will do it for you) then import those one by one, Ctrl+A Ctrl+5 (or whatever rating you had), and you’re good to go!

Also install Last.fm for foobar. Open Last.fm and go Tools\Get Plugin\Next\Add\foobar2000 0.9.4 (the 0.9.4 is important – do NOT try using 0.9!).

Finally, most importantly – Don’t like something? Right click it and change it (that’s what’s so great about foobar after all :))

It’s ‘baku’ not ‘boku’!

So I’ve been on a SOUL EATER marathon lately (or have I? Funimation I actually bought your shoddy SLAYERS localizations so no hard feelings okay?).

I hated the first ED song, but I loved the 2nd (Style. by Nana Kishino) and the 3rd is what I’m currently on. There is a lot of controversy over the tagging of the 3rd ED song so today I hope to clear it up.

Album title: 爆走夢歌（バクソウユメウタ）
both kanji and kana romanized as, Bakusou Yume Uta.

Get it folks? It’s Bakusou Yume Uta, not Bokusou Yume Uta!

So over Black Friday I bought myself some great gear to build a new computer (hi Core 2 Duo, byebye Athlon 64!) but while I remembered to back up my work-in-progress simfiles, I forgot to back up my Music folder. Now, I happen to own an 80gb iPod Classic so I didn’t lose any music (thank god), but I DID lose my iTunes library (oh god..)

So, while I’m taking the next 57 weeks rebuilding my desktop’s music library, applying my own set of ID3 tags, and building my own folder structure, don’t expect much, if any, simfile releases :P (the other reason you shouldn’t expect anything is because Otaku’s Dream 6th Anime Mix is leaning toward being unreleased files only, so I’m going to save a bombshell, or nuke, for that)
